We are an open and fluid collective involving several people and there are many ways of being around. Some people are core to the network, some others have one-time relationships but still are curious about what is going on. There are also people who have heard things but do not know yet what Holon does.
When somebody is interested in getting to know more and actively take part of the network, there are different ways of getting in. You may already be a friend, which means you have had contact with the network at some point before, so probably you know the tools for starting conversation through Slack, e-mail or face to face with one of the members.
You might also have happen to meet somewhere else one core member; and through conversation on some shared interests this person in the network might go with you in the process of actively take part in the collective.
Finally, it may also happen that browsing the internet you end up in our website.
We do care about knowing why somebody is up for joining, so we usually ask people to reflect on some questions to check if there is some alignment. We will then typically have an online call or chat over a tea to get to know each other better.
Once the newcomer and the collective have a shared understanding of Holon and a socialized purpose to go for, we onboard in slack where the bulk of our communications happen.
This handbook can be a good place to get your head around of the collective as an organisation. As a new member and fresh user of the handbook the rest of the collective would be really grateful for listening to your feedback.
